“The Purge: Election Year” is the third chapter in the Purge saga and it is quite enjoyable and much better then the second chapter “The Purge: Anarchy”, however these films are not connected to each other, each one of them is a story on its own but with the same subject which is of course The Purge. For those who don’t know, in this utopian future the US government agreed on a purge night a year where all crimes (murder included) are legal for 12 hours, Election Year is no different than its previous ones, blood and murders unlimited but this time the story centers on a woman who is candidate to a Presidential role and guess what, one of her first goals would be to stop Purge night for good. It starts pretty intense but unfortunately does not deliver the same pace for all its length, about half way through the movie the story becomes more predictable and less interesting than the way it started, but if you are a fan of this ‘saga’ then you should definitely watch this latest (and maybe last?) chapter. Plenty of action and even if a bit predictable it’s not boring, recommended if you like this genre.
