Sean Baker’s “Tangerine” may be not everyone’s taste but it is fair to say that it’s a very well made drama with a strong content set during Christmas day in Vermont. The plot is about a transexual working girl who is going to search for her pimp who cheated on her; filmed with a nice pace and with entertaining dialogues, Tangerine is a film recommended to those who enjoy realistic dramas with a peek on an unknown world of prostitution, drugs and betrayal. An interesting subplot of an Armenian taxi driver completes this feature which may be not memorable but it’s indeed a nicely done movie able to entertain the viewer for its short length of 128 minutes. A bit depressing as you can imagine but if you fancy a look on this kind of tough street life, this is a good story.
